Year 5 Direct School Admission (DSA) - Criteria & Schedule

    Criteria

    The DSA-JC Exercise allows students with special talents and achievements to apply to RI directly. Students who are successful in this exercise are guaranteed a place if their O-Level results meet the eligibility criteria for JC admission.

     

    2018 Application Schedule

    Application Period starts 11 May 2018 (Fri) 12pm
    Application Period ends 08 June 2018 (Fri) 12pm
    Announcement of DSA results by 31 July 2018 (tentative)

     

    Sports

     

    ► You should demonstrate interest and talent in a specific sport beyond the abilities of your peers. You must have a history of accomplished performance in this particular sport at an international or national level.

    ► You can apply through one of the following sports:

    Badminton Basketball Cricket Cross Country
    Fencing Floorball Football Golf
    Hockey Judo Netball Rugby
    Sailing Shooting Softball Squash
    Swimming Table Tennis Tennis Tenpin Bowling
    Track & Field Water Polo    

     

    Performing Arts

     

    ► You should demonstrate interest and talent in one of the performing arts beyond the abilities of your peers. You must have a history of accomplished performance in this area at an international or national level.

    ► You can apply though one of the following musical groups:

    Chamber Ensemble Chinese Orchestra Choir Symphonic Band

     

    Academics

     

    ► You should be able to demonstrate interest and talent in the Science or Mathematical Olympiads or in science research beyond the abilities of your peers. You should have a history of accomplished performance in Science/Maths Olympiad at the national or international arena or the Singapore Science and Engineering Fair.

    ► You can apply through one of the following:

    Mathematics / Science Olympiad Science Research

     

    Submitting your application form and supporting documents

     

    Please submit the following set of documents at the RI Administrative Centre (Level 2)) by 8 June 2018:

    1. printout of completed Online Application Form

    2. photocopies of these supporting documents (which will not be returned):

    2a.  photocopies of Sec 3 (EOY) and Sec 4 (MYE) results. If the Sec 4 (MYE) results are not available at the time of application, apply first and submit a photocopy of your results once they are available.

    2b.  records of CCA achievements, additional qualifications (highest level required only), awards, scholarships (for admission on the strength of special talents, if any).

    Please check that your email address (as indicated in the Application Form) is valid; we will inform you of test and/or interview dates via email.

    We will not process late or incomplete applications.

     


     

    Only shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend the selection tests, interviews and/or sport trials.

     


     

    We will notify all applicants of the outcome by 31 July 2018 (tentative). Please note that:

    -   vacancies will not be completely filled if there are not enough suitable candidates

    -   we reserve the right to not discuss the results or reasons for non-selection; and

    -   we will not provide information on application status or outcome over the phone.
