The Bicentennial Wall depicts the RI story from the Bras Basah days to the present. Glimpses of school life are interwoven with depictions of RI’s historic campuses. The mural reflects student activities across the generations, and pays homage to how some practices have evolved while others have remained constant.

The images also invite alumni to reminisce about their time in school, and introduce the reality of what school life was like to present-day students.

Although RI’s physical campus has changed, the Rafflesian Spirit has remained constant through the ages. The sense of camaraderie among Rafflesians unites the images in this mural.

1000 Days to RI's Bicentennial

On 8 September 2020, we had the launch of the 1000-day countdown to RI's Bicentennial, where the bicentennial wall was launched and the bicentennial logo was unveiled. The event was attended by guest-of-honour Permanent Secretary of Education, Mr Lai Chung Han and Director-General of Education and former principal, Mr Wong Siew Hoong, both alums of the school. In view of COVID-19 safety measures, a limited number of guests were in attendance. They include past Chairmen of Board of Governors and ORA Presidents, Rafflesians from the various campuses, and community partners.

We look forward to your continued support as we work towards RI's Bicentennial in 2023!
