Lunar New Year Celebrations 2018
We rang in the Year of the Dog on 15 February, with the entire school population turning up in bright colours and high spirits. Our students ushered in the new year by performing some spring cleaning in their home rooms and decorating them, before bonding with their teachers and classmates over potluck. The RI Prefectorial Board also visited staff at the Administrative Centre and Student Affairs Centre to present them with oranges, which signify luck and prosperity.
The Year 1-4 festivities at the Albert Hong Hall saw students participating in a fun quiz on the origins of Chinese new year traditions, and being regaled by a senior's kuai ban performance. The Year 5-6 Raffles Lion Dance troupe also made an appearance, to the audience's delight.
The event concluded with the distribution of prizes for best-decorated classroom, and the much-anticipated performance by the RI Chinese Orchestra.
