Promethean Leadership Investiture 2019

The Promethean Leadership Investiture is a key milestone in the school’s annual calendar, during which the newly elected student leaders of RI are invested in the presence of their peers, parents and teachers. This ceremony emphasizes the important role of all student leaders in the school in their common purpose of building school culture, promoting the well-being of the community, and continuing the legacy of past student leaders.

The theme for this year’s Promethean Leadership Investiture is “Learn, Lead, Legacy”. The journey of being a student leader starts today, and he must be receptive to learn from others, as well as from his own mistakes to improve. It is expected of him to have the initiative to lead the student body to greater heights, and stand up for what is right, even if the decision is unpopular. Through this, he leaves a legacy behind.

The Guest of Honour was CPT Thia Shan Zhi. He is a naval officer and submariner in the Republic of Singapore Navy, and is currently Operations Officer on RSS Conqueror, a Challenger-class submarine. He was the Head Prefect in 2008, and also a member of the National Cadet Corps. He was awarded the SAF Overseas Scholarship in 2011, and went on to pursue a degree in History at Tufts University in the United States.
