Welcome to Raffles Institution!
Founded in 1823, Raffles Institution draws on 203 years of educational heritage as Singapore’s oldest school, even as we prepare our students for a future shaped by complexity, uncertainty, and possibility. We remain steadfast in nurturing Rafflesians who are guided by purpose, grounded in service, and ready to lead with resilience, empathy, and optimism.
While our history grounds us, it is our dynamic culture, forward-looking curriculum, and indomitable Team Raffles spirit that define who we are today. Our community of students and staff is united by strong collegial bonds, a shared sense of purpose, and a deep respect for the human experience, recognising each individual’s needs, strengths, and potential.
As an educational institution for high-ability students aged 13 to 18, we are committed to being an inspiring school that broadens horizons, deepens compassion, and embraces diverse strengths together as a community. We believe learning is a process of growth, one that invites curiosity, experimentation, and reflection, and empowers students with agency as they discover pathways to purpose. Along the way, we value wonder and playfulness as essential companions to rigour, helping youth to remain open, imaginative, and resilient.
