Our English Literature programme nurtures critical thinkers with a deep appreciation for literary texts. We encourage creativity, reflection and sensitivity to human experiences, fostering student agency and personal growth.
In Lower Secondary, our students explore poetry, prose and drama. They develop foundational literary analysis skills while experimenting with their own writing, cultivating a sense of wonder and playfulness.
In Upper Secondary, our students engage with more complex texts and deepen their understanding of literary form, context and meaning. Exposure to Singaporean theatre enhances their appreciation of local arts and culture.
By engaging with the lives of others through English Literature, our students broaden their horizons, deepen their compassion and gain insight into narratives, society and themselves.
