GapX
Beyond academic and enrichment pursuits, Raffles also supports students in discovering their deeper purpose in life through GapX, a reimagination of GAP Semester.

About the Programme
GapX is a dedicated time for each Year 4 student to explore an area of interest in meaningful depth, allowing them to develop their unique gifts beyond the classroom through real-world immersion and reflection. Whether through regional opportunities in our GapX Expeditions or purposeful local work attachments in our GapX Deepdives with our partner organisations, GapX aims to help our Year 4 students to cultivate a sense of purpose, deepen compassion, and build the capacity to contribute meaningfully to both the human and natural world.
DeepDives
Through carefully curated attachments and activities across diverse sectors, students step beyond the classroom to engage with professionals who are making meaningful contributions to society. More than just a work experience, the DeepDive challenges students to think critically about their role in addressing societal needs, developing both professional competencies and personal values that will guide their future contributions to the world.
Expeditions
Expeditions provide sustained cross-cultural experiences that challenge our students to adapt, collaborate, and reflect deeply on different ways of living and learning across the region. Through homestay programmes with our host partners, extended engagement with local communities, students will navigate unfamiliar environments, communicate across language barriers, and develop cultural sensitivity whilst building resilience and adaptability.
