About the Programme
EMAS (Elective Programme in Malay Language for Secondary Schools) nurtures students’ proficiency in the Malay language while deepening their appreciation of Malay language, literature and culture. By engaging in a range of enrichment activities offered by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Raffles Institution, students immerse themselves in authentic experiences that broaden their horizons and build cultural understanding.
At Raffles Institution, our vision for EMAS is Membina Bata Jati Diri, Menuntun Berbakti Ibu Pertiwi—to shape identity and inspire service to community and nation.
Our programme encourages students to develop a strong sense of Malay identity while learning to embrace differences, deepen compassion and connect meaningfully with others. Through EMAS, we nurture learners, leaders and pioneers who can enrich and celebrate Malay language and culture in Singapore.
