About the Programme
The MEP spans Year 1 to Year 4 and offers an in-depth exploration of music through theory, performance, and creativity. Our programme is guided by MOE’s objectives and enriched by Raffles Institution’s unique approach to holistic education. Key components include:
Music Theory and Analysis: We guide our students to analyse musical structures, styles, and forms, fostering an appreciation for diverse genres and traditions.
Performance: Our students develop technical proficiency and expressive capabilities through solo and ensemble performances, building confidence and stage presence.
Composition and Arranging: We encourage our students to create original works, experimenting with innovative techniques and expressing their unique artistic voices.
Cultural and Historical Studies: Our programme immerses students in the study of music’s role across cultures and history, broadening their global perspectives.
Students in the MEP also engage in collaborative projects, masterclasses with industry professionals, and curated performance opportunities to connect their learning to the real world. By fostering creativity, critical thinking, and compassion, we aim to develop musicians who are visionary, empathetic, and ready to inspire change.
