Through the learning of the Malay language and literature, we aim to nurture students who are not only knowledgeable in the fields of Malay language, literature, and culture, but who also possess effective bilingual communication skills.
About the Programme
Through the learning of the Malay language and literature, we aim to nurture students who are not only knowledgeable in the fields of Malay language, literature, and culture, but who also possess effective bilingual communication skills. These students are able to appreciate and embody the noble values they have learned, and contribute actively to society - reflecting the vision of Arif Budiman: a learned individual who gives back to the community.
We make use of various ICT platforms, such as the SLS portal and MS Teams, to enhance the teaching and learning of Malay language and literature. H1 Malay Language students have the opportunity to carry out projects related to the Malay language and culture. For H2 Malay Language and Literature students, we offer the Malay Language Elective Programme (MLEP), through which enrichment activities are conducted to enable them to deepen their understanding of the Malay language, literature, and culture.
High-achieving students are encouraged to take H3 Malay Language and Literature, where they have the opportunity to complete a project under the guidance of lecturers from the Department of Malay Studies at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Melalui pembelajaran bahasa dan kesusasteraan Melayu, kami dapat membangunkan pelajar-pelajar yang bukan sahaja berilmu dalam bidang bahasa, sastera dan budaya Melayu malah mereka mempunyai kemahiran berdwibahasa yang berkesan dan dapat menghargai dan menghayati nilai-nilai murni yang telah mereka pelajari dan menyumbang secara aktif kepada masyarakat, seperti yang terungkap dalam Visi Arif Budiman – seorang pelajar yang berilmu dan menyumbang kepada masyarakat.
Kami memanfaatkan pelbagai platform ICT seperti portal SLS dan MS Teams untuk mempertingkatkan pengajaran dan pembelajaran bahasa dan kesusasteraan Melayu. Pelajar H1 ML berpeluang melaksanakan tugasan tentang bahasa dan budaya Melayu. Untuk pelajar H2 MLL, kami menawarkan Program Elektif Bahasa Melayu (MLEP) yang mana aktiviti pengayaan dijalankan untuk membolehkan pelajar mendalami aspek bahasa, sastera dan budaya Melayu. Pelajar yang berkebolehan tinggi digalakkan mengambil H3 MLL dan mereka berpeluang melengkapkan tugasan dengan bimbingan pensyarah dari Jabatan Pengajian Melayu, Universiti Kebangsaan Singapura (NUS).
