Year 5 Direct School Admission

The Direct School Admission for Junior Colleges (DSA-JC) allows students to seek admission to a Junior College (JC), based on a diverse range of specific academic and non-academic achievements and talents that they can demonstrate beyond the GCE O-Level examination.

2026 DSA-JC Exercise

This exercise is open to all Sec 4E/ 5NA O-Level graduating cohort of 2026, studying in mainstream secondary schools and have outstanding talent in either Academic, Leadership and Character, Performing Arts or Sports.

Applicants are allowed to apply for only one talent area and are not allowed to switch talent areas.

Submission of Supporting Documents

Supporting documents and your portfolio are necessary to verify your information and undergird your application.

  1. [Compulsory] End of Year (EOY) Academic Progress Report 

    • Express stream: Sec 2 & 3 EOY Academic Progress Report 

    • Normal Academic (NA) stream: Sec 3 & 4 EOY Academic Progress Report  

  2. [Compulsory] Term 1 and Term 2 Progress Report / Result Slips 

    • Express stream: Sec 4 Term 1 & Term 2 Progress Report / Result Slips 

    • Normal Academic (NA) stream: Sec 5 Term 1 & Term 2 Progress Report / Result Slips 

  3. [Compulsory] Co-curricular Certificate for Secondary 

    • Official Co-curricular Activities (CCA) & Values in Action (VIA) records and achievements obtained from your school 

  1. [Optional] Awards, Community Service / Projects, etc., that demonstrate your character and talent(s) 

  1. [Optional] Current scholarship offer letter if any (e.g. ASEAN, School-based Scholarship, etc) 

  1. [Compulsory for HMTL students] Official GCE-O Level Mother Tongue Language Certificate for students taking Higher Mother Tongue Language

  1. [Optional] Personal Statement of up to 300 words to support your application 

*Teachers’ testimonials are not required. This avoids imposing unnecessary obligations and expectations on your teachers.  

Important Notes

Meeting all criteria does not guarantee that applicants will be shortlisted or given an offer. 

We will not disclose details of the DSA-JC selection process or interviews, and reserve the right to neither discuss nor disclose reasons for non-selection. 

Students who have been successfully posted to a school via DSA-JC are not allowed to participate in the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE). They will also not be allowed to transfer to another school after the release of the GCE O-Level examination results.  

They are expected to honour their commitment to the DSA-JC school and to participate in activities related to their Talent Area – for the duration of the programme they are admitted to. Students who do not fulfil their DSA-JC commitment without any valid reason may be required to transfer to another school.
