SEA Games Water Polo - Rafflesian Alumni

“Our team prepared well and put up a good fight at the Games, and we're honoured to be able to fly the flag overseas. Cheers to all the support from back home!” Abielle Yeo Zhi Min

We are proud of our Rafflesian alumni who competed in the SEA Games for water polo this year!

Some of them have been to multiple editions of the SEA Games, representing both Singapore and their Alma Mater. They do so with utmost humility, recognising that it is a privilege not many have.

At this year’s SEA Games, the team was greeted with graciousness by the people of Cambodia, who were eager to make their first hosting a success. They learned that competing in sports at the international level is always a test of one’s values and character, but they learn and grow through the experience.

For our alumni athletes, it was a constant struggle to juggle their commitments with work, family and training. However, this was nothing new to them as they all experienced similar challenges even during their schooling days as athletes.

They remained focused on their goals, stayed true to the values imbued in them since their schooling days in RI, and maintained discipline to train for the SEA Games while managing other priorities.

Nadyn Kei Thinagaran shares: “Our team fought hard against fierce competition, and we are proud of what we achieved. Most importantly, we had a blast competing together!”
