The Raffles Playground brings together a wide range of enrichment programmes that are designed to empower Rafflesians to discover their unique pathways to purpose and to ignite a sense of wonder in their learning. This innovative platform comprises three domains: (a) Talent Development, (b) Research Education and Competition, and (c) Play Electives. From hands-on workshops and enriching seminars to collaborative projects and real-world simulations, the Raffles Playground fosters a vibrant learning environment where curiosity thrives.
Talent Development We offer an accelerated curriculum for Rafflesians who demonstrate a particular talent and passion in a specific subject. Students who enjoy studying Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geography, History and Literature in greater breadth and depth can apply for the Raffles Academy at Year 3–4. The content and skills in these classes are more advanced and conceptually challenging than the curriculum offered in the Raffles Programme. The equivalent programmes at lower secondary are AfterWord (English Literature), Euler (Mathematics), Galileo (Science) and Marco Polo (Humanities).
Research Education and Competition This domain provides Rafflesians with the opportunity to embark on a long-term research project with in-house mentors or experts from various research institutes. Identified Rafflesians will also be invited to take part in externally-organised competitions under this domain.
Play Electives This domain offers courses that go beyond the formal academic curriculum. From sustainable gardening to drone flying, these diverse courses aim to encourage Rafflesians to explore areas of interest that excite them and to broaden their horizons beyond the traditional curriculum.
