The Social Studies curriculum aims to nurture informed, concerned, and participative citizens who are equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitudes for them to make a positive change to their communities.
Students will develop an understanding of how they can best contribute to society: as individuals, citizens of their country, and members of the global community. Social Studies is compulsory for all Year 3 and 4 students. In the two years, students
will learn to apply moral reasoning and exhibit responsibility and integrity in decision-making, as well as the ability to reflect on and respond to community, national and global issues, as an informed and responsible citizen.

Enrichment
Some exciting things that social studies students participated and engaged in include:

Visits to the Diversity in Harmony Gallery developed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), in order to better understand racial harmony in Singapore as well as inter-religious conflicts and harmony around the world. | | Fieldtrips to places such as Bukit Brown Cemetery in order to learn more about Singapore’s heritage and civil society actions that were taken in the preservation of the place.
