Science & Astronomy Club

2020 Science and Astronomy Club

Members of RISAC (Raffles Institution Science & Astronomy Club) are passionate and motivated in their pursuit of Science and Technology. The club provides a platform for members to learn from each other and discuss Science problems with greater depth and rigour. The club gathers every Friday afternoon to engage in hands-on experiments, demonstrations and lectures on different branches of Science. On Friday evenings, members get to interact with the students from Y5-6 Astronomy Club and bond over astronomy, astrophysics, and navigating the night skies. An annual overseas learning journey is organised to provide an escape from Singapore’s light pollution, allowing members to appreciate the untainted night sky.

To reach out to the school community, RISAC supports a wide range of Science-related activities in school which include:

  • Inter-House Science Competition
  • Raffles Science Olympiad (RSO)
  • Raffles Institution Open House
  • Training programme for Astrochallenge
  • Training programme for National Science Challenge
  • Training programme for Singapore Astronomy Olympiad
