Founder's Day 2019

We celebrated our 196 Founder's Day on 27 July 2019. The Guest of Honour was Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Education. Among the accolades given out today were the All Round Excellence awards, Sports and Arts awards, Community Service awards, and Long Service awards (for dedicated staff of the school). The Stamford Raffles Awards were presented to Wong Ting Hong and Fu Jiali Beverly for their exemplary student leadership and service to community, and they nominated an inspiring teacher from their primary schools for the Promethean Award for Teaching.

Mr Ong also launched 'Back to Raffles @ Bras Basah (1823-1972)', a book that commemorates the Singapore Bicentennial that documents RI's early years in a collection of pictorial memories, an effort from the 11-member committee comprising a group of passionate RI alumni who studied at the Bras Basah campus. The book is now on sale at the Raffles Archives & Museum for $30.

As part of Founder's Day celebrations, the Gryphon Recall, an event where current students, former teachers and alumni can reconnect through their CCAs, also took place.
