On the evening of 1 November, RISE put up a concert titled “Serenade” at the school’s Performing Arts Centre. It was an evening of soothing music and rousing emotions as the ensemble brought the audience through the ups and downs of Schubert’s Four Songs for Strings (including his famous Serenade) and the five contrasting movements of Dvorak’s Serenade for Strings Op. 22.

The audience was also treated to Albinoni’s Adagio in G Minor in an unusual all-cello arrangement, as well as our Training Ensemble’s* exuberant The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba by Handel. It was a well-received event, with enthusiastic support from parents, Y4 and Y5 members of RISE and students from other performing arts CCAs.
