Our Approach

Students will understand that commitment to stewardship of the physical self will positively impact the long-term well-being of self and society. 

 

Learner Outcomes

  • Independently maintain an active and healthy lifestyle
  • Appreciate a wide variety of sports and games
  • Effectively participate in any category of games or sport
  • Understand and demonstrate appropriate safe practices and etiquette in physical activities
  • Demonstrate critical thinking when engaged in sports and games

 

Curriculum

By the end of Year 4, students will go through a wide variety of outdoor education, sports and games modules. The Physical Health and Fitness (PHF) Module is conducted throughout the four years as a separate module.

Year One: Outdoor Education, Gymnastics, Badminton, Soccer, Swimming (SwimSafer 1&2 and Waterpolo)
Year Two: Outdoor Education, Basketball, Softball, Ultimate Frisbee
Year Three: Sports Climbing, Floorball, Table-tennis/Mini-Tennis, Volleyball
Year Four: Inventing Games and Tchoukball

Gap Semester Modules (Year 4 students only): Abseiling, Kayaking, Floorball (Intermediate), Badminton, Table-tennis, Tennis, Soccer (Intermediate)
