Dr Goh Wei Leong and Healthserve Named the Straits Times Singaporean of the Year 2017
Congratulations to Dr Goh Wei Leong (RI '78) and his HealthServe charity which he co-founded on being named The Straits Times Singaporean of the Year 2017!
HealthServe provides migrant workers with affordable healthcare. It has dental and medical clinics in Geylang, Mandai and Jurong, and also offers social assistance, skills training and a food programme.
"Its not just about dishing out medicine," said Dr Goh. "It's about the human community. (In the early days), I realised we needed social workers, counsellors, and legal advisory."
